At Kruger Park

Some  more facts  about  me. On  febraruy  fifth  my  family  and  I  went  to  kruger  park  and  saw  two  elephants  one  giraffe,  one  lion  and three  lionesses  and  tons  of  gazelles! And  we also  saw one buffulo  and  one  hippopatamis.

The  story  of  the  lion  and  a  buffulo. When  we  were  in  kruger  park we  came  to  a  stop  where  there  were  lots  of  people  who  stopped  because  they  saw  vultures,  and  lion  that  had  just  killed  a  buffulo.  the  vultures  where  waiting  for everyone  to  go  away  but  we  didnt  see  the  vultures  eating. Female  lions  are  the  leand  hunters  of  the  pride.  Namib  lions  have  adapted  to  there  desert  habitat  by  absorbing  almost  all  the  moister  they  need  from  there  prey, oryx.  Desert  lions  can  survive  for  two  to  three  weeks  without  drinking  water. A  community  forms  when  a  group  shares  the  resources  (food,  water  and  shelter)  of  one  place. The  same  is  true  for  plants  and  animals. This  community  is  called  an  ecosystem. Grass  is  the  base  plant  of  the  savana's  ecosystem. A  savana  is  a  rolling  grass  land  skattered  with  shrubs  and  some  trees. About  10,000  species  of  grass  cover  more  thene  25  percent  of  our  planet. Africas  great  savana  covers  a  third  of  the  continent, providing  for  the  hundreds  of  species  of  heribvore  that  roam  across  it. Close  behind  are  the  carnivores  looking  for  the  next  meal. In October's  dry  seasan,  heards  walk  miles  to  find  rivers.  A water hole is a place where everyone can rest, drink, and eat--but in Africa, water means life...and death.  Africa has three of our planet's largest freshwater lakes: Malawi, Tanganyika, and Victoria.  It is also home to many rivers, including the longest river in the world, the Nile.
Mountain animals need  strong   hands  and  feet. The  gelada  baboon  has  the  strongest  fingers  of  any  primate. Geladas  chomp  grass  in  troops  of  up  to  800  largest  group  of  primates  anywhere  on  the  planet. At  nhigt  they  sleep  together  on  rocky  cliffs  to  avoid  predators. Gelada's  realative,  the chama  baboon,  lives  near  the  Okavango  River. Gelada  baboon  walia  imbex  engoiy  the  buddy  system. These  rare  monkey  and  goat  speices  gaze  upon  the  highland  meadows  and  alert  one  another  if  a  predator  is  near. Rubbery  hooves  with  hollow  middles  that  act  like  suction  cups  walia  jump  between  rocks. Today  about  650  walia  live  within  Simein   Mountain  national  park  in  Ethiopia.

Poutugese Man-of -war

Anyone unfamiliar with the biology of  the venomas pouturguese Man-of-war would likeley mistake it for a jelly fish. Not only is it not a jellyfish  its not even an it, but they. The portugese man-of-war is a sihonophore, an animal made up of a colony of ogranisms working together. The man-of-war comprises four separte polyps. It gets it name from the uppermost polyp ,a gas- fillde bladder , or pneumatophore, wich sits above the water and somewhat resembles an old warship at full sail.Man-of-wars are also known as bluebottles here in africa for the purple-blue colour of their pneumatophore. The tentecales are the man-of-wars second organsim. These long thin tendrils can extend 165 feet (50 meters) in length below the surface althogh 30 feet (10 meters) is more the average. They are coverd in venom- filled nematocysts used to parilize and kill fish '
and other small cretchers. For humans, a man-of-war sting is excruciatingly paneful but raley deadly. But beware--even dead man-of-wars washed up on the shore can deliver a sting.Muscules in the tenicals draw prey up to a polyp containing gastrozooids or digestive organisims. A fourth polyp cotains the man-of-wars are found somtimes in groups of 1 ,000 or more , floating in warm waters throughout the world ocaens. They have no independent means of propulasion and etheir drift on the currents or catch the wind with ther pneumatophores. To avoid threat on the surface, they can deflate their air bags and brifley submerge.

Lets learn about turtles
Loggerhead sea turtles.loggerheads live in ocanes all over the world, except in the coldest seas. There are more loggerheads in the waters of the United States than any other species of sea turtle. An adault loggerhead is about 36 inches (90 centimeters) long.It ways an average, about 250 pounds (113 kilograms).

Mammals and animals!

PrzewalskisHourses.Przewalski's (pronounced ''PER-zhih-VAHL-skeez'') horse live in the steppes, or open grasslands, of Mongolia. They used to be wild, but now only live only in zoos and wildlife prezeres.Przewalski's horses are named Russian explorer and naturlist General Nikola Michailovitch Przewalski, who first studied them.

Jellyfish
The tenticels sting jellyfish!Sea turtles relish the taste of jellyfish. Some jellyfish are clear can look like a plastic bags in the water.Others are in viberat colours such as pink, yellow, blue and purple, and oftten are lumenisent. The Chinese have fished jellyfish for 1,700 years. They are considered a delicacy and are used in chinese medicine.
